Glub glub

I'm starting to see why Jessica separates generations, as it's becoming increasingly clear to me that I'll never get all the breeds in play that I want if I have continuous breeding. While I initially stashed eggs today because I was streaming (though, sadly, to no audience), I'm considering starting from scratch yet again. The Eden world itself is fine, of course, but I have a constant stream of Norns with only five breeds represented, and Magma Norns died out entirely before I could introduce a sixth. I'll be caught forever in a loop of restoring lost breeds instead of adding new ones. So perhaps I should let the remaining population die out and start a new population, with all desired breeds represented. But that's something to deal with later.

After distributing my new honey pot agent around the ship, I checked in on the creatures. Most of them were hanging around in the Woodland or the Meso. I lost a few Grendels in this session; they've taken well to using potions to regulate their anger, but the Hardman Norns have had a little more trouble adapting. I still refuse to give up on keeping them together, though! I have been making steady progress, after all.

As I made my rounds, I kept hearing the low-glycogen music in the Woodland. Sequoia, for whatever reason, holed up in the treehouse and kept running dangerously low on starch. I blame the fact that the pumperspikel seeds don't land on that level. Then again, he should know enough to take an elevator up or down to get starch when he's starving.

Pine, the last holdout of Magma Norn genes, isolated himself in the desert, where he kept getting spooked by the volcano. I noticed that his fear level never seemed to go down, so the poor guy ended up with maximum fear all the time. I tried moving him, with no luck, and could not for the life of me get him to use a cuddly tree. He didn't have fear toxin in his system, so I'm not sure what his issue was. The poor fellow went gray from the stress moments after this picture was taken.

I decided to break up the cliques by moving everyone into the Woodland again, and let the creatures re-shuffle themselves into new locations. Maple and Sycamore decided to explore the Desert, while Carnation and Fig went back to the Meso. Hazel, somehow, ended up drowning in the left side of the Aquarium. I have no idea how he even got in there, as the place is fully sealed.

I continued cycling through creatures. The population was starting to show its age, with many Norns going gray, and over the course of the session, a few began to die off. Death by old age is acceptable, but death from sickness is not, so I was quite alarmed when I moved to the Desert and found Maple with injury maxed out, and then noticed he had antigen 3 and histamine B in his system. I scrubbed him down with fog and he recovered without incident, so I went to check on Sycamore, who had been hanging out with him. He turned out to have the same illness, so I used the opportunity to fog the entire Desert terrarium.

The population was now down to 10 Norns and 2 Grendels (plus Ettins, not pictured). I've got a few eggs in my inventory, but I'm not sure what to do with them. Perhaps I'll hatch them and put them up for download here, or include them in the "first" generation of my rebooted world. Or I might just airlock them.
